Southern California - In May of 2016, a 4-year-old girl was involved in a major traffic collision when a speeding SUV rammed into the rear end of the vehicle she was traveling in. Paramedics and the fire department arrived on scene to find the child unconscious with multiple abrasions on her chest, arms, and legs, along with bleeding from her nose. She was airlifted to Loma Linda Medical Center for treatment and after examination, her mother was told her daughter had suffered brain and kidney hemorrhages. The little girl had sustained several fractures to her face and skull from the violent blow. According to the medical experts, the four-year-old had experienced persistent traumatic brain injury due to the rear-end collision and her entire right side was un-responsive immediately following the crash. Ultimately, hearing in her right ear was virtually absent and sensation in her right side had significantly weakened. It is at this point that the family of the little girl realized the full ramifications of the collision and the true impact it would have on their four-year-old daughter’s life. The attorney representing the four-year-old began standard procedure and contacted the insurance giant to collect the $250,000 policy. As the medical bills grew, these funds were needed by the family to cover the accrued medical costs. To the counsel's surprise, the insurance company did not respond to the first policy demand. After a period, the legal counsel then proceeded to send the second demand. Once again, the demand was ignored by the insurance company. The legal counsel attempted a third policy demand, only to be disregarded again. The legal counsel was baffled by the unresponsiveness of the insurance giant. Typically, insurance companies respond in a timely manner to resolve any claims as quickly and economically as possible. At this point, the period of time the insurance company had to pay for the policy had expired. The legal counsel then decided to invite Nicholas Rowley, from Carpenter, Zuckerman & Rowley, to aid in representing the four-year-old. The partners of Carpenter, Zuckerman & Rowley quickly came together to pursue justice for the little girl and her family. Subsequently, DK Global was commissioned by attorney Rowley to create a presentation with multiple visuals, including a 3D model of the injuries sustained, colorized and textured images of brain damage, and damage to the vehicle. Armed with the potent visuals generated by DK’s team, the trial lawyers entered the battle-ready to win. After faced with Carpenter, Zuckerman & Rowley, their materials and case, the insurance company knew heading to trial would result in a huge loss, thus compelling them to settle pre-trial. Attorney Rowley and his team were able to obtain an impressive $45 million settlement on a mere $250,000 policy. Read More |
