A 33 year-old man died from multiple stab wounds at a Riverside, California hospital after being involved in an altercation at a local restaurant with two men, aged 20 and 27. California personal injury attorney William W. Seegmiller of The Seegmiller Law Firm, represented the parents of the victim in a suit against the restaurant and operator claiming they too were at fault for the fatal incident by serving an extensive amount of alcohol to the already intoxicated perpetrators, one of which was under the legal drinking age.

The Seegmiller Firm, who has successfully served injured persons and families for over 30 years, contacted DK Global to produce a visual presentation of the incident to bolster their case during mediation. The presentation included a reenactment of the incident by actors, as well as 3D modeled scenes and characters to emphasize the specific details. The presentation was an essential tool used to relay the sequence of events that led to the fatal incident. The defendant’s accepted no responsibility for the incident during mediation, therefore the case continued to trial.

The team of trial attorneys made a compelling presentation to the jury who were asked to examine all of the facts brought forth, including testimony from the restaurant’s former bartender who stated that the management was fully aware of the habitual service to minors. The jury found the restaurant and operator to be 55% liable for the incident that claimed the life of the plaintiff’s son, awarding $40 million to the Riverside couple, one of the largest civil verdicts in the county.
