Nick Rowley & Minh Nguyen Secure $1.92M Verdict

Animation Assists in Illustrating Complex Brain Injury to Jury

When a distracted drive rear-ended Mr. Hoang’s car early one morning, Mr. Hoang lost consciousness and, in an instant, his life changed forever. Mr. Hoang was rushed to a local hospital, where he was diagnosed with a traumatic brain injury and spinal damage. Minh T. Nguyen, of Nguyen Lawyers, ALC quickly came to Mr. Hoang's aid as his legal representation, and overcame several hurdles in order to help Mr. Hoang receive full and fair compensation for these devastating injuries.

After a year of searching, Minh Nguyen was able to retain a specialist to perform the neuropsychological exam in Vietnamese, Mr. Hoang's native language, so that he could effectively communicate with the patient and ensure that nothing would be lost in translation. Then, Minh worked with DK Global to put the medical information into a presentation that could explain his client’s complex brain injuries to the jury. Finally, Nicholas C. Rowley, of Carpenter, Zuckerman & Rowley partnered with Minh - forming a formidable duo - to take the case to trial.

Animations Accurately Convey Complicated Subjects

The medical animations were shown during all phases of trial, and demonstrated a coup-contrecoup injury - an injury where both sides of the brain are damaged due to a rapid acceleration and deacceleration of forces. The presentation then transitions to show the considerable amount of damage to Mr. Hoang’s spine, demonstrating just how serious and life-altering Mr. Hoang's injuries were.

Minh Nguyen's hard work and perseverance resulted in a quickly decided verdict of $1.925 million to aid in Mr. Hoang's recovery.
