A 51 year-old man walked into a San Diego area coffee shop looking forward to meeting up with some friends. However, a spilled beverage and poorly placed warning marker led to a slip and fall that changed his life forever. When representing firm Gomez Law, took on the case against Starbucks, they immediately identified the necessity of visually relaying the serious and long-term effects of a traumatic brain injury. The professionals at DK Global were called on to develop a presentation that would irrefutably demonstrate the mechanism of injury and the lasting physical, emotional, and psychological damage suffered by the plaintiff, in a way that could be understood by a jury.

DK Global provided the trial team with a powerful visual that effectively relayed the internal trauma that occurred when the plaintiff’s head hit the floor. The presentation offered the jury a detailed and comprehensible explanation of the injuries using a combination of animation, custom graphics and the plaintiff’s actual medical imagery; all of which showed the exact areas of trauma and how each area affected the man both physically and mentally.

With a large corporation that refused to agree to a fair settlement and the evidence clearly presented, the jury ensured that justice was served by awarding a $7.5 million verdict. As a recoverable expense, the cost associated with the instrumental presentation prepared by DK Global, was reimbursed by the defense leaving the award amount in the hands of the plaintiff, as intended.
