Disaster can occur when public transit drivers are not held to the highest standard of safety and awareness while operating. Typically, city-employed bus drivers undergo rigorous training that focuses on safety, but even then, serious accidents still occur. When the driver of a large articulated city bus made a left-hand turn into an intersection, they failed to notice Jane walking across the crosswalk. The bus struck her, causing severe injuries including skull fractures and a traumatic brain injury. Daniel Jones and Ryan Harris of Harris Personal Injury Lawyers quickly filed suit on behalf of Jane once they received news of her injuries and began planning for trial. With the Defense’s liability clearly demonstrated when viewing the bus’s surveillance footage, Daniel and Ryan concentrated on how they would exhibit their client’s complex injuries for a jury to understand and appreciate. These two attorneys assembled their team of medical experts, and together with DK Global, created a presentation that brought their client’s radiology reports to life.
The presentation begins with a 3D model of the Plaintiff that closely resembles their appearance, and then pans around to each of their injuries. DK’s presentation illustrates each excruciating hematoma, skull fracture, and contusion, alongside the medical imagery. The damages are modeled and portrayed one by one for an audience to visually comprehend. Then, to demonstrate the consequences of their client’s life-changing traumatic brain injury, the presentation displays a 3D model of the Plaintiff’s brain. It then proceeds to highlight the afflicted areas as well as the corresponding cognitive deficiencies including depression, irritability, and headaches.
With a comprehensive presentation creating the risk of a large jury-awarded verdict in trial, Daniel and Ryan met with the Defense and settled the case for $6 million to aid in their client’s long road to recovery.
