Slip & Slide Event Ends in Quadriplegia for Teen
Cervical Spine Fractures Result In Quadriplegia

Summer festivities halted for one teen who sustained a quadriplegic-rendering injury on a slip and slide. The Plaintiff suffered cervical spine injuries after his head impacted the ground due to the host's negligence in choosing a proper location for the event. Rather than having the event on a completely flat surface as is typically the case, the game was set up on a hill creating an uneven and unsafe slide for the participants.

The presentation features accurate custom 3D graphics that first depict what a slip and slide is as well as the scene of the incident, then moves into showing the mechanism of injury with the Plaintiff’s head striking the ground. Next, the presentation shifts into a medical animation depicting the compression of the spine, resulting in the fractures and quadriplegia. Precise recreation of all the incident elements ensured that the full scope of the injury could be understood through the visual presentation. The Plaintiff's attorney utilized the presentation to assist in securing a considerable settlement that safeguarded the family from the medical expenses that would pose additional hardship in the future.
