The Extra Mile Award is given to those who go above and beyond the expectations of commitment when obtaining justice for their clients. A 17-year-old young woman fell 50 feet off a camp rock climbing wall, resulting in fractures to her spine and nearly paralyzing her. The camp’s rock-climbing instructor disregarded the protocol by delegating the responsibility of belaying the safety rope to untrained minors. Ted Wacker, worked with DK Global in producing a powerful 3D animation that demonstrated the shocking outcome of the camp instructor’s poor decision.

Reconstruction Animation Aids in a $1.45 Million Settlement

The animation begins with a Google Earth view setting the location. As the camera zooms in, it transitions to the 50-foot climbing tower. The scene continues to unfold, and the camera displays the position of the camp instructor who was responsible for the safety of the children. The young and untrained minors holding the safety rope are also shown. Using custom graphics, we see the young girl at the top of the climbing tower as she starts the process of being lowered. Meanwhile, one of the young and inexperienced fellow campers, let go of the rope. This immediately causes the young girl to fall down the tower at a high speed. As she forcibly hits the ground below, the injury animation shows she fractures her spine in two places consisting of a T7 compression fracture and an L1 complex fracture.
