A surveillance camera caught footage of a terrible incident depicting the devastating fall of an employee, due to the negligence of an onsite repair vendor hired by the casino to perform maintenance. In the surveillance footage, we see a large toolbox being left in front of the door to a casino’s employee entrance. After the repairman set it down and stepped away, we see the employee enter the casino, catch her foot on the toolbox, and topple over the top of it, resulting in a devastating and painful fall. She suffered multiple injuries, including a fracture and dislocation of her elbow along with rotator cuff tears. Soon after the fall, the employee began experiencing abnormal and severe pain radiating from the location of her injuries – a sign of complex regional pain syndrome, or CRPS. Because of this painful disruption to her life, Michael Bigos came forward to represent the employee and seek proper compensation against the Defendant and their company.

To demonstrate the Defendant’s negligence and the incident in its entirety, Michael Bigos worked with DK Global to utilize and enhance the surveillance footage as well as create an animation that displays his client’s internal injuries. The footage shows the woman on floor writhing in agony after falling, and then transitions into a view of the injuries to her elbow and shoulder, alongside the medical imagery that was taken. The presentation then reveals the complexity of her injuries: her nerves are now compressed from the trauma, which causes significant swelling, pain and numbness, and is also a condition known as thoracic outlet syndrome. Michael’s client was forced to undergo numerous exceptionally invasive corrective surgeries to relieve her pain. Presently, she endures the ongoing physical and mental trauma on a daily basis.
